The microblogging platform X will soon enable financial transactions via its app, as announced by the current CEO of the social network. Financial services are expected to be available on X as early as 2025, initially limited to users in the United States.
According to an official post by the X CEO, the company has already secured its first major partner, Visa, for this initiative. The new service will be branded as “X Money” and will offer features including:
- Secure and instant top-ups of the X Wallet via Visa Direct
- Linking to personal debit cards and enabling P2P payments
- Option to instantly transfer funds to a bank account
X is likely to seek additional payment partners in the near future to eventually expand the service globally. Elon Musk has repeatedly shared his plans to develop X into an all-in-one app, similar to WeChat in China.
